Josh Wool is a photographer based in New York City. Originally from the Low Country of South Carolina, Wool spent more than a decade as a chef and restaurateur before finding photography in his early 30's. In a time where the cult of personality reigns, he remains a humble and genuine observer. It has led him to find a niche in creating intimate and timeless portraits. His approach is to strip away all that is unnecessary, to find beauty in simplicity. Wool's work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Photo District News, New York Magazine, Juxtapoz, The Photographic Journal, and VSCo.
