Josh Wool

I am a photographer based in New York City. Having spent over a decade as a chef and restauranteur in the South, my path into photography has been an unconventional one. Five years ago, at age 33, I moved to NYC with the idea that I would take a sabbatical and explore my newly found interest in making photographs. Little did I know then that photography would become my second career, that it would take me around the world, or that it would afford me opportunities to collaborate with an incredible array of people. In just a few short years I have built an ever growing commercial client list, been included in the PDN 30,  exhibited work alongside legendary photographers,  and published my first monograph entitled Modern Alchemy.  My mantra: ultimate beauty lies in simplicity.

Select Clients:  General Motors, OXO Good Grips, Newport Folk Festival, Rolling Stone, GQ, Village Voice,   Food & Wine, Juxtapoz, Billboard, The Daily Beast, Gotham Magazine, American Songwriter, Acoustic Guitar Magazine, Tumblr, CFDA, JC Penny, Anti Records, Sub Pop Records, Sony Records Italy, Actes Sud Publishing - France, The Hill-Side, Grey Ant, JJ Hat Center, Billy Reid.
